Kelsey Smith
Kelsey graduated from Charleston Southern University with her Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy and a minor in psychology in 2022. She completed her 6 months internship with us here at Joyful Music Therapy, where she now continues to professionally serve the community she grew up in since 1997. She embraces a process-oriented approach in her treatment implementations and fosters the development of self-identity and global skills through play and laughter within her sessions. Kelsey's therapeutic lens is shaped by both clinical and personal experience: as an individual with multiple disabilities herself, she believes that adversities serve as opportunities for profound, meaningful growth.
Fun fact: Kelsey dressed and performed as the mascot of the Dr. Phillips High School athletics department for 4 years. Go Panthers!
